'If the Invader Comes'

The final Fleet commission, 'If the Invader
Comes' by photographer Dan Dubowitz and choreographer Fearghus Ó’Conchúir opens at Jaywick Martello Tower on 8 June 2011.

It is part of a series of projects that put Martello Towers in their international context, the first of which 'Tattered Outlaws', a 12 screen installation will be exhibited at Jaywick Martello Tower from
1 April 2011.

The Martello Towers are part of an international family of defence forts built in the 19th Century throughout the then British Empire and include a number built on the Essex and Suffolk coast. Connecting the towers on the coast of Ireland and East England, this new work by Dan and Fearghus focuses on the traces of human intervention in the towers.
