'Little White Feather and the Hunter' by Anna Lucas - book now available
Following her highly successful film, 'Little White Feather and the Hunter' Anna Lucas has now produced a companion book.
The eighty five page A5 concertina fold publication charts the artist's progress through Essex UK and Virginia USA, using the iconic native American princess Pocahontas as her virtual guide. The book takes stills from every shot in the film and includes transcriptions of the voice-overs.
Like the original film, the publication interweaves multiple accounts of the Pocahontas story gathered from amateurs and experts in Harwich, Essex UK and around Jamestown, Virginia USA, and includes images of hunting, fishing and estuary landscapes of Essex and Chesapeake Bay.
The DVD is included in this specially designed publication which also features an essay by curator and critic Lisa LeFeuvre.
Copies of the book are available from a.lucas@clara.co.uk for £10 + p&p.
The project was commissioned by Essex County Council in partnership with Commissions East in commemoration of the American connections between Essex, England and Virginia, USA, as part of the 'Jamestown 400' anniversary of the first permanent English speaking settlement in North America.
