The Writtle College Fellowship was the culmination of a collaboration between Commissions East and Writtle College, the largest horticultural education and training facility in the country.
Funded through the Year of the Artist Programme with the support of Writtle College, the aim of the Fellowship was to advance the role of artists in the development of contemporary landscape through a programme of research and discussion.
As the Artist Fellow at Writtle College, Jim Buchanan's role was to lead a landscape project. The Fellowship concluded with a symposium in May 2001, which examined and evaluated the results of the project and made recommendations for future strategies.
Commissioned by Writtle College, with the support of Commissions East.
